Looking back on those who’ve had considerable influence on her life and her career decisions, Armida Rose Realty founder Franca DiCrescenzo credits her Italian and American grandmothers for embodying many of the values she has sought to bring to ARR.

When Franca was 14 years old, she made her first trip to Italy -- to a little town outside of Rome called Monte San Biagio. There she was introduced to her paternal grandmother for the first time, Armida. In Schenectady, where Franca was born and brought up, she was greatly influenced by her maternal grandmother, Madeline Rose. Franca admired both of her grandmothers and came to know them as warmhearted, community-minded and loving women who enjoyed being around their children, grandchildren and friends. In their respective communities, these women coordinated many social gatherings in their homes and were known to treat guests just as they would family members and long-time friends. They were never more in their element than when hosting parties that featured plenty of food, laughter and fun. Franca’s visits to Italy, along with the time she spent with her grandparents in the U.S., made a deep and lasting impression on her about the importance of building enduring relationships with others.

As Franca spent more time with her grandmothers she began to see their unique style of hospitality. Her understanding of what a home was subsequently took on a new meaning. A home wasn’t just a house, it’s a place to entertain and celebrate; a place to work and meet with people; a place to exchange ideas; a place to spend time and create fond memories with family; a place to decorate and create a home; a place to study and learn; and a place to rest and recharge. With her grandmothers’ influence and her increasing involvement in the family’s construction and real estate business, Franca’s passion for home development and real estate management was born. The next step, she realized, was to take what she’d learned from those experiences and build something that could embody all of her values.

In 2003, Franca formed Armida Rose Realty, LLC, named in honor and tribute to these two women whose qualities and character she so admired. Over the years, she brought together an experienced and dedicated staff to help develop her vision of building strong communities and social networks and to provide a way for clients to turn their dreams into reality. Today, the staff at Armida Rose Realty continues to build this vision within New York State’s Capital Region.
